Howdy all!
Not really saying much here, I'm a bit of shutter bug, graphic designer and other things. I really just whip up things when I want to. I don't make much of a living off my own design skills, but it's a nice bit of pocket change for me.
I'm a Canuck (Canadian) and live in Gatineau, Quebec (just across the river from Ottawa), I'm proud of what I am as a person. I'm a quiet thinker and a listener for the most part, I do like to chat from time to time, but I'm no social butterfly.
I'll probably add more to this little bio as time goes on, but that's all I really have to say for the moment.
Please note that I upload things that I personally think are good. I'm not really the type of guy who 'pretties up' things. I say art is best in it's raw form. If you can't appreciate what you have right off the bat and succumb to others' opinions, then it's no longer YOUR art.
So yeah, some of my photos are gonna be a little blurry, out of focus, or have other random flaws. You know what though, if you can't appreciate what was captured at that moment, then you can't really appreciate things as a whole.
That being said, I appreciate constructive criticism, comments and more. I enjoy taking photos when time and locations permit me to do so. I don't have top end gear and I know my skills need improvement. Hence that's why it's a hobby for me.
My Tools of the trade: Fujifilm S1700 digital camera, a $40 Giottos tripod, 8GB Verbatim SD card and my head.
My Other tools: Samsung RF711 laptop running Win7 with the Adobe CS4 suite and the GIMP.
My motivations: My wife, my penitence for observing the world around me in different viewpoints and learning to appreciate things one step at a time and for what they worth.
Just a note to folks though, I do not take commissions, and if you'd like to use what I share for your art, by all means go nuts. I'd appreciate a mention. All my stuff is shared under a Creative Commons Non-Commercial Attributed Share Alike 3.0 license.
That means you can use my photos for your own work, but for non-commercial purposes. You must also mention the photo was originally taken by me. Whether you share it or not is not too much of concern for me, but I'd appreciate seeing what becomes of the pictures I do take.
